24′s Kiefer Sutherland Visits David Letterman

LAST night, 24‘s Jack Bauer, a.k.a. Kiefer Sutherland, gave David Letterman a surprise when he came out on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater wearing a dress on The Late Show with David Letterman

A laughing Letterman, taken aback by Sutherland’s attire of a blue-green print sleeveless wrap dress with a long-sleeved undershirt and combat boots, joked, “It’s, uh, you’re doing a remake of The Beverly Hillbillies? You’re Granny? You’re – what’s happening here?” Sutherland explained, “Far worse than that. I lost a bet. Over the weekend I was so sure New England [referring to the New England Patriots football team] was gonna win that I told a guy who used to be my friend that if New England lost, I would wear a dress on Letterman.” The actor then stood up and modeled his outfit to audience laughter and applause.

Letterman later joked, “You ride the subway, I’ll give you a thousand dollars. You get on the subway like that…downtown,” prompting audience applause and laughter from Sutherland. “I have to say,” Sutherland said, “riding the subway would be easier than what I’m going through right now. This I think may be the most humiliating moment of my life, and I’ve had a couple to choose from.”

Twilight’s Robert Pattinson Visits The Late Show With David Letterman

November 19, 2009

ACTOR Robert Pattinson, star of the highly anticipated film The Twilight Saga: New Moon, talks about the fan adoration that comes with fame – including his admirers wanting him to bite them – and if he’s dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, in his first visit to the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday, November 18th.

According to an official CBS press release, Letterman asked Pattinson, who reprises his role as Edward Cullen in the film, “Everybody tells me, wherever you go, bedlam ensues and people go crazy and they chase you around and go berserk. Is that a fair assessment of what happens in your life these days.”

Said Pattinson, “Only when I’m working. I try to avoid it as much as I can.” Letterman wondered to what the actor attributes this, and Pattinson said, “I’m still trying to figure it out. I’m still like, I don’t know, maybe it’s like a kind of scent or something. I don’t know…People have such a passion for these books and stories.”

Letterman asked, “In the beginning, people sometimes single out somebody that they like and they become, you know, like a super fan. Have you ever had any of that before this general adoration?”

Pattinson recalled, “Yeah, I guess. I don’t know if it was a super fan…I was doing this film playing Salvador Dali in Spain, and there was this one girl who was kind of waiting outside my apartment every single day, and I was so chronically bored that one day I just – she had been out there for about three weeks – and I said, ‘Do you want to go to dinner or something? I mean, no one else wants to hang out with me.’” Letterman joked, “High flattery indeed for the young lady.” Continued Pattinson, “Her parents had a restaurant, so she took me there and I kind of complained about everything in my life for about two hours. And then she gave me the bill at the end - I had to pay for it – and she was never back outside my apartment ever again.”

Pattinson addressed the phenomenon of fans asking him to “bite” them. Letterman remarked that, “strictly speaking, that’s not healthy, especially with the swine flu going around. And I mean, the swine flu is the least of it, honest to God,” but when a fan asks him to do it, does Pattinson oblige? The actor said, “Well, it depends on your mood, really…And it depends on what you want to get out of it at the end. There’s variations of biting.”

Letterman then held up a copy of Harper’s Bazaar with Pattinson and his co-star Kristen Stewart on the cover and asked if they were dating. Pattinson laughed, “I’ve been so kind of cryptically avoiding this question throughout the entire press tour,” and Letterman had Pattinson and the audience laughing when he joked, “Oh, bite me!”

Pattinson’s entire interview can be seen on the Late Show tonight, Wednesday, November 18th @ 11:35 p.m. – 12:37 p.m. on the CBS Television Network.

ON today’s edition of The Wendy Williams Show (nationally syndicated, check local listings; show also airs on BET nightly @ 11 p.m. EST) former Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter stopped by the studio to chat with Wendy about her career, her family and her new CD “At Last.” When chatting about her hesitation about plastic surgery, Lynda commented, “I’m terrified of it.”

Wendy and Lynda discuss her reason for not doing plastic surgery:

Wendy Williams - Now you say you don’t do plastic surgery?

Lynda Carter - There are people who have so much money and they have plastic surgery and you think, ‘Oh, my God!’ They look so awful that you think…well, I’m terrified of it.

Wendy asked Lynda how she cares for her Wonder Woman costume:

LC - I took it out not too long ago and realized that it’s falling apart a little bit and I have to take it to the Smithsonian to have them look at it.

WW - Because you can’t trust it [the costume] with any seamstress at the local dry cleaners!

Lynda discusses how she got into acting:

WW - How did you get off the singing path to become an actress?

LC - I was on the road doing clubs around the country and I didn’t think that was going to get me to where I wanted to go. I moved to Los Angeles and did some studio singing and some acting. They told me that I couldn’t tell anyone that I was a singer because producers didn’t want singers who acted back then.

Wendy and Lynda talk about her former alchohol addiction:

LC - It felt like it happened overnight. I had been so successful in everything I had done, and I couldn’t get hold of this thing.

Lynda Carter chats with Wendy Williams about her personal Wonder Woman belongings, including her memorable Halloween costume – link follows:
