SPOILER ALERT!! - An unlikely superhero with unprecedented strength and the amazing ability to fly is thwarting crime – and Sanctuary missions – throughout the city, sparking an investigation into his identity by the Sanctuary team. Magnus (Amanda Tapping) and Will (Robin Dunne) are able to trap this costumed man by creating a phony emergency, which he responds to with vigor. The city’s newest hero, who calls himself “The Adjuster,” is quickly disabled and brought back to the Sanctuary for study.

Convinced that Magnus and Will are actually super-villains who have captured him in order to run experiments on him, The Adjuster a.k.a. Walter (Christopher Gauthier, Eureka) is less-then cooperative. When a blood test reveals that he doesn’t possess the DNA of an Abnormal, Magnus and Will are baffled as to the origins of his super powers. Still convinced he’s in the hands of the super-enemy, Walter manages to escape before the Sanctuary team can confirm the results of any more tests. While Walter’s efforts to fight crime are commendable, if rather fumbling in nature, he continues to risk the work of the Sanctuary and innocent lives (including his own). But when further test results come back, the team discovers some disturbing news and must find Walter before it is too late.

Elsewhere, Magnus, Will and Declan (Robert Lawrenson) investigate the discovery of an unusual eggshell remanet at a construction site, which leads to a search to locate a dangerous creature that has hatched and is now loose in the city and quickly growing in size. Meanwhile, Kate (Agam Darshi) gets an unexpected call from her brother, who finds himself in deep with an organized crime boss. In order to save him, she must risk the security of the Sanctuary and a newfound trust that she is beginning to develop with the team.

Re-Imagined Being Human Comes To Syfy

October 29, 2009

THE Syfy Channel has ordered 13 episodes of Being Human from RDF Media USA, it was announced today by Dave Howe, President, Syfy, and Chris Coelen, CEO of RDF Media USA. Being Human will premiere on Syfy in Summer 2010. The series is a re-imagining of the acclaimed BBC original. Three twentysomething roommates – a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf – struggle to keep their dark secrets from the world, while helping each other navigate the complexities of living double lives. The original UK series is produced by RDF subsidiary Touchpaper Television and executive produced by Rob Pursey.

Being Human is a smart, contemporary, young and imaginative series that reflect Syfy’s new brand positioning. We are very excited to adapt this for an American audience and bring it into Syfy’s family of programming,” said Dave Howe in making the announcement.

Mark Stern, Executive Vice President, Original Content for Syfy and Co-Head, Original Content for Universal Cable Productions added, “We’ve loved this project and been tracking it for a while. Being Human definitely distinguishes itself as something new and different in a landscape filled with familiar supernatural fare. In adapting it, we intend to work closely with RDF to keep the wit, insight and humor of the original, while opening up the series for a new audience.”

Adds Chris Coelen, CEO of RDF Media USA, “We’re incredibly proud of our British series and had a tremendous amount of interest in adapting the project for the States. With Syfy’s unwavering passion and dedication for the show, we’re confident it can be as successful here as it is in the UK.”

SPOILER ALERT!! - Despite severe rationing and around the clock security, the water reserves onboard the Destiny continue to drop. Dr. Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle) has no explanation for this latest setback but, if they are to survive, they must find a new water source soon. The only planet within range is a frozen wasteland surrounded by a thin and poisonous atmosphere. Donning two of the ship’s deteriorated spacesuits, Colonel Young (Louis Ferreira) and Lt. Scott (Brian J. Smith) head to the planet’s surface hoping to retrieve enough ice to replenish their water supply. Once there, however, tests reveal that the ice near the Stargate contains traces of highly toxic chemicals. Young and Scott take off in search of drinkable samples, knowing they don’t have long before their air runs out and Destiny jumps back into FTL (faster-than-light) drive. Back onboard the ship, Lt. Johansen (Alaina Huffman) works with the crew to catch an intruder who they believe is responsible for the lost water rations. Water airs Friday, October 30th @ 9 p.m. EST on The Syfy Channel.
